It’s Border Buddy Saturday and it’s Alison here today. I remember when my kids were little they were much more interested in the box the gift came in than they were with the goodies inside. I find myself now in the same place when it comes to pretty wrapping. Sometimes the pretty gift packaging is as nice as the gift inside.
These little packages of goodies are so easy to make for any occasion. I used our 2″ x 8″ Cellophane Bags and loaded them with candy treats. Then I topped them with a character from the Seasonal Chums Stamp Set. These little images are so nostalgic and can be cut out with the Seasonal Tags Framelits Dies (buy together and save 10%).
The Halloween treat bag is filled with Hersey’s Nugget Candies wrapped in a piece of the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper. I just cut them 1″ x 3″ and wrapped them around the nugget and then filled the bag. So cute and super easy. You could also fill them with Candy Corn or another Halloween treat.
The Reindeer and Snowman bags are filled with chocolate covered raisins and Scotch Mints representing reindeer “poop” and snowman “poop”.
The little rhyme on the side of the bags ready:
I’ve heard that you’ve been naughty!
Now listen, here’s the scoop.
I’m running short on coal this year,
So you get Reindeer (or snowman) Poop!
The concept artists used some of these images for another cute packaging idea – Hot Chocolate in a Jar!
When you stamp the image it includes a front and a back and then you use the matching framelit to cut it out. So simple!
Here’s another Trick or Treat idea with the bags and Pumpkin topper:

Love it, I ‘ve done the snowman poop with a tic-tac box, it opened up like a book, it was a big hit! We have a large family, at Christmas we can be up to 30 people, we buy gifts for all the kids but each draw one name for the adults. Still I like to give a little something to everyone. These ideas show that you really don’t need to spend a lot of money to bring a smile to someone’s face. It’s a cute “I just wanted you to know I thought of you gift.”
Marie that’s such a wonderful idea. And these don’t take a lot of time to make either. Thanks for your idea!
…full disclosure I found the idea on pinterest!
That’s perfect Marie – I get lots of ideas from Pinterest. It’s my go to resource for cards!
Oh so cute, and cute is my thing! I love the reindeer card! So darling! I have never made the chocolate nuggets in a package, I’m afraid I’d eat all the chocolate nuggets prior to decorating them, but a wonderful idea.
Confession. the nuggets didn’t all make it into the project. LOL
My favorite Halloween candy is the little bite-size chocolate bars….just perfect for when you want a bit of sweet. I’m always looking for different ways to wrap a holiday treat for my co-workers…..Pinterest has become my go to as well. I get to work first and tuck something in everyone’s locker. Thanks for the cute idea. Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Absolutely love things that are packaged in a fun way!!! I’m off shopping for my Halloween treats!!!
